How to install ?

Disclaimer: Flashing firmware is a potentially dangerous procedure that can result in data loss or device bricking if not performed correctly. Please follow the steps carefully and take a backup of your critical data before applying this.

Before You Begin:

Backup: Ensure to backup all your essential data since flashing a firmware will wipe everything from your device.

Charge Your Device: Make sure to charge your device, so you don’t have to pause in between the process. (at least 50%).

Step 1: Download the stock firmware for your Redmi 8A and SP Flash Tool on your PC.

How to Flash Xiaomi Redmi 8A Firmware with SP Flash Tool

Install Required Drivers:

If you do not have Xiaomi USB drivers then download and install them on your computer.

Stage E: Install MediaTek USB VCOM drivers (should be included in the SP Flash Tool package).

Download Firmware:

Step 1: APK for your DeviceDownload the Stock Rom for your Xiaomi Redmi 8A from here.

Place the downloaded firmware package in a folder and extract it on your computer.

Download SP Flash Tool:

To download the SP flash tool visit any reliable source and after that extract it to a folder in your PC.

Open SP Flash Tool:

Open the SP Flash Tool folder and launch the flash_tool. exe” executable.

Load Scatter File:

Open file you extracted the firmware and Click on scatter file. Thus, this file is named as follows: “MTxxxx_Android_scatter. txt”.

Select Flash Options:

In the SP Flash Tool interface, ensure that only the ”Download” option is selected.

Flash Firmware:

In SP Flash Tool, clicking the Download button.

Turn off your Redmi 8A and connect it via USB cable to the computer.

Once done, SP Flash Tool will begin flashing your firmware. You will see the flashing progress bar.

Completion:

After the flash is finished you will see a green circle saying it was successful.

Turn off your device and unplug the power cable. Note that the first boot may take long as expected.

Keep in mind that those steps are just generic instructions for flashing MTK based devices. Depending on the exact SP Flash Tool version and firmware, the steps may be a little different.
