How to install ?

We are providing you with a .rar file to reduce the file size. Please note that you need to convert this file to a .zip format.

PREREQUISITES:
It’s paramount that you do the following before attempting to flash.
  • Before you can flash firmware to your Samsung Galaxy S6, you’ll need to gather everything you need. This is to avoid any potential problems and have a smoother process.
  • Obtain the Required Files
  • The Latest Firmware Update Available to Download:
  • Download the latest firmware for your particular Samsung Galaxy S6 model from a trusted source.
  • Make sure the firmware you chose is the right one for your device or you’ll end up with an error.
Install Samsung USB Drivers:
  • Get the latest Samsung USB drivers and install them on your PC.
    This will enable your computer to recognize and communicate with your Samsung Galaxy S6.
  • Download and Install Odin:
    Odin is Samsung’s tool that’s used for flashing firmware on its devices.
  • Make sure to download the latest version of Odin from a reliable source.
  • Unzip the downloaded Odin zip file to a folder of your choice.
Charge Your Device:
  • Before you begin, make sure your Samsung Galaxy S6 is charged to a minimum of 50%.
    This would ensure that there are no unwarranted shutdowns while flashing the device, leading to corruption of the device’s firmware.

NOTE: You should be on Android Lollipop to proceed.

Step 1:
  • Enable USB Debugging
    Open Settings on your Samsung Galaxy S6.
    Scroll down, and tap on About Phone.
    Find the Build Number and Tap it seven times for Developer Mode.
    Go back to the main Settings page.
    Choose Developer Options and turn on USB Debugging.

This is important as this setting helps your device to communicate with the PC during the flashing process.

Step 2:
  • Boot into Download Mode
  • First of all, turn OFF your Samsung Galaxy S6 completely.
  • Simultaneously press and hold the Home, Power, and Volume Down buttons.
  • Release all buttons (including the Wake/Sleep button) when the warning screen appears.
  • In download mode press the volume up button.
  • Your device is ready to connect with the PC for flashing.
Step 3:
  • Link the Samsung Galaxy S6 with the PC
  • Connect your Samsung Galaxy S6 to the computer using a high-quality USB cable.
  • Keep that stable, so your flashing will not get interrupted.
  • On your PC, right-click on the Odin executable record and choose Run as Administrator to open Odin.
  • When your device is properly detected, Odin’s ID: COM section will show a blue box.

Odin doesn’t recognize your device:
Install Samsung USB drivers again.
Try a different USB port (or cable).
Then, restart your PC and device and try again.

Step 4:
  • Add the firmware files to Odin
  • Open Odin on your PC.
  • Hit the AP button in Odin.
  • Go to the folder where you save the firmware file.
  • Select the firmware (. Tar or. Tar. md5 extension.
  • Odin will now check and load the firmware file.
Step 5:
  • Edit Odin’s settings
  • In Odin, make sure these options are checked:
  • Auto Reboot (checked)
  • F. Reset Time (checked)

Except if you are an expert user and know what each of them does, do not change anything else.
Confirm you have the proper firmware file selected, then click Next.

Step 6:
  • Start the Flashing Process
  • Now hit the Start button in Odin to start flashing the firmware.
  • This may take a few minutes – avoid disconnecting your device or closing Odin at this time.
  • Odin will display flashing progress, and the device may reboot several times.
  • Wait for the process to be completed
  • When the flashing is done, Odin will show the word Pass in green.

Now, your Samsung Galaxy S6 device will restart by itself.
If the device does not restart automatically, press and hold the Power button to turn it back on.

Completing the Firmware Installation
Step 7:
  • Finish setting things up
  • Continue following the on-screen instructions to activate your Samsung Galaxy S6.
  • Choose your language, connect to Wi-Fi, and log into your Google and Samsung accounts.
  • If required, fulfill your backed-up files.
Step 8:
  • Check the Firmware update
  • Go to Settings > About Phone.
  • Verify successful installation by checking the firmware version.

Initiate a Factory Reset (only if necessary)
If anything goes wrong after flashing, please factory reset your device:
Enter Recovery Mode (Power + Home + Volume Up)
Use volume keys to navigate and choose Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
Then click to confirm the action and wait for the process to finish.

Important Notes & Disclaimer
  1. Flashing gives some variations to some of the Samsung Galaxy S6 models and firmware versions.
  2. Flashing firmware does NOT root your device. To have root access, you have to do extra work.
  3. Flashing the wrong firmware can brick (render unusable) your device.

Well, here are a few steps you need to flash the firmware on the Samsung Galaxy S6:

Prepare the Necessary Files:
  1. Download the recent, compatible firmware for your device.
  2. You will also need to install Samsung USB drivers on your PC.
  3. At the same time, we also have to download and extract Odin, the flashing software.
  4. Before Registering, Pump Some Juice in Devices: Ensure at least 50% charge left in your Galaxy S6 to prevent the sudden shutdown during the process.
  5. Enable USB Debugging: Go to Settings > About phone and tap “Build Number” 7 times to turn on Developer Mode.
  6. Turn on USB Debugging in Developer Options
  7. Enter Download Mode: Next, switch off your device, and hold the Home, Power, and Volume Down keys at the same time.
  8. Press Volume Up when asked to enter Download Mode.
  9. Connect the Device to PC: Connect the S6 to the PC through the USB cable and open Odin;
  10. Load Firmware into Odin: In Odin click on the AP button and select the firmware file named with a. tar or. Tar. md5 extension.
  11. Configure Odin Settings: Make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked.

Confirm the firmware file you are using.

Start Flashing:
  • Press Start in Odin and wait for the flashing to be completed. Your S6 might reboot a few times.
  • Complete Initial Setup: Once successful, complete the setup steps on the Galaxy S6, restoring backups as appropriate.
  • Verify the Update: You can check the firmware version in Settings > About Phone.

After the flash, if you want a factory reset from Recovery Mode to solve a problem, you can do it. Just make sure to use official guidelines when flashing roms, and to make sure the firmware is legit, as rules of the books don’t apply here, playing about with that might brick your device.
