How to install ?
Caution: Flashing the firmware is a risky process that can cause data loss or you may even brick your device if not done properly. Be sure to take care while following the steps and before proceeding, back up your important data.
Before you begin:
Backup: Backup everything you want to escape because flashing your firmware will delete everything from your device.
Charge: Make sure your phone has enough battery (minimum 50%) so that it does not run out of battery while flashing.
Step 2: Download Firmware and Tools — Download the official firmware for your Xiaomi Redmi 6, as well as the most recent version of SP Flash Tool on your PC.
USB Drivers: You need to install the Xiaomi USB drivers on your computer for your device to be able to communicate with the SP Flash Tool.
Flashing Steps:
Extract Firmware: Extract the firmware package that you downloaded on your computer into a folder.
Install SP Flash Tool: If you don’t have SP Flash Tool installed, do it on your computer.
Launch SP Flash Tool: Open the SP Flash Tool software on your computer.
After clicking on the Load Scatter File link, navigate to the folder in your PC where the firmware is and select the scatter file. The.scatter file is a plain text file ends with file extension “. txt — which informs the SP Flash Tool how to flash each partition of the firmware.
Choose Flash Options: You should notice the options for flashing different sections of the firmware. These could be one such as “Download Only”, “Firmware Upgrade”, etc. Choose the right one according to your requirement. Normal used Firmware upgrade to update the firmware.
Step 1: Connect Phone: Power off your Xiaomi Redmi 6. Use a USB cable to connect your device to your computer while holding down the volumes down key. This will put the device in “Download” or “Flashing” mode.
Begin Flashing: After connecting your device and ensuring SP Flash Tool recognizes it, you can start the flashing process. This is in order to start the flashing process.
Flash progress: The tool will flash the firmware. It will show you a progress bar while flashing. During this process do not remove your device.
Complete Flash: Finally, when the flashing process is finished, SP Flash Tool will show a message like “Download OK” or “Finish.”
Disconnect and Reboot: Unplug your device from the PC. Your Xiaomi Redmi 6 may take a little while to boot up, and it also may take some time to reboot in the first boot. This is normal.
