NOTE: Flashing could lead to possible data loss and irreversible damage, if not done correctly! Only proceed if you know what to do. Please note that you should always exercise caution and take all necessary precautions not to brick your device. Please remember to back up all relevant data before you proceed, as the flashing process will take everything out of your device.

Before You Begin

Backup Your Data:

• Download all your important files and back them up, as the flashing process will delete everything on your device. These include apps, photos, videos, contacts , and other personal information.

Charge Your Device:

• Charge your Xiaomi Redmi 7A to at least 50% before you begin flashing the steps. Flashing is a process that may consume a lot of time, and if your device loses power during it, it can result in irreversible damage or bricking.

Install Required Device Drivers:

• Set up MediaTek USB VCOM drivers on your computer. SP Flash Tool recognizes the Xiaomi Redmi 7A device using these drivers. You can generally find these drivers on your device manufacturer’s official website. What – Incorrect drivers → device not detected → flashing fails.

Flashing Process

Step 1: Get the Right Firmware

• First of all, download the correct firmware of your Xiaomi Redmi 7A device. Download the version compatible with your specific device. There are some popular sites where you might download firmware such as the official Xiaomi website and others. Please take good care of the version to prevent flashing firmware that leads to fatal issues with devices.

Step 2: Install SP Flash Tool

• After that, get the SP Flash Tool and set up the newest version. If you want to flash firmware into your device then SP Flash Tool is a must-have software. Find it from the official website and most probably you will get it in other public use sites. It is frequently updated to resolve bugs and implement new features, therefore always try to get the latest version available to eliminate compatibility problems.

Step 3: Extract the Files

• Download both the firmware and SP Flash Tool and extract both to their folders with an extraction tool such as WinRAR or 7-Zip. Extract the firmware and SP Flash Tool in different folders on your computer for easy access during the flashing process.

Step 4: Run SP Flash Tool

• Go to the folder where you extracted the SP Flash Tool. Find the file called “flash_tool. Exe and double-click it to open the tool. For Windows folks, make sure to right-click on the file and select “Run as administrator89123)” — that would ensure the tool has the permission to run smoothly.

Step 5: Load the Scatter File

• Now, Click on the “Scatter-loading” button in the SP Flash Tool. It will then ask you to navigate to the scatter file location in the firmware extraction directory. The scatter file is a text file that contains the names of all the partitions that you are going to flash on your device. It is typically called something like MTxxxx_Android_scatter. Txt in which “X” represents your device’s specific chipset. The tool will load the scatter file and display the list of partitions to be flashed once selected.

Step 6: Select Flashing Options

• Now you need to set the flashing options according to your preferences. Listing of partitions in SP Flash Tool, like the preloader partition, system partition, recovery partition, etc. Only tick the partitions that are needed to be flashed The “Format All + Download” should not be chosen unless you are sure that you want to wipe all user data. This will erase the device and may lead to permanent data loss.

Step 7: plug your device into download mode.

• To begin with, disable your Xiaomi Redmi 7A and, whilst clenching the Volume Down button, attach it to the PC with a USB cable. This will enter the device into ‘Download Mode’ and the SP Flash Tool will be able to detect it. You’ll notice your device detected by the tool. If your device is not detected by the tool, ensure that the MediaTek drivers are installed properly as well as your device is connected.

Step 8: Begin the Flashing Process

• After connecting and SP Flash Tool recognizes your Device click the Download button for the flashing process. The tool will start copying the firmware files to your device. This process takes a few minutes based on the size of your firmware and the speed of your computer. Do not turn off the device while flashing, it will burn your device.

Step 9: Flashing Complete

• After completion of flashing, a green circle with a checkmark on the SP Flash Tool indicates the process was successful. Which means the firmware was successfully written to your device. At this time you can disconnect your Xiaomi Redmi 7A from your PC.

Step 10: Reboot the Device

• Once flashing is done, switch on the Xiaomi Redmi 7A. The first boot after flashing the firmware may take longer than the usual boot time. Wait and let the device fully boot up. When that’s humming along, you can begin restoring your device.
