How to install ?

Warning: This can be a dangerous or complex process, leading to potential data loss and/or bricking of your device if done incorrectly. Follow the steps carefully as needed and back up important data before proceeding. Proceed at your own risk.

Prerequisites:
  • Read: How to flash Xiaomi Redmi 9T Firmware/Stock ROM.
  • Xiaomi USB drivers: You need to have the Xiaomi USB drivers installed on your PC before you can operate.
  • This involves: Downloading the Correct Firmware: You will need to download the correct firmware for your Xiaomi Redmi 9T device. Ensure you download the firmware from a trusted source to avoid compatibility issues.
  • You should also have SP Flash Tool installed on your PC. An indispensable utility for flashing firmware on MTK chipsets
  • Have Enough Battery: Charges your device a minimum of 50%, as a low battery could stop the flashing process in the middle. A power loss during the process could lead to some serious problems like the device being bricked.
How to Flash Stock or Custom ROM on Xiaomi Redmi 9T:
Step 1: Install SP Flash Tool
  1. Ensure that you have downloaded the SP Flash Tool from any trusted source.
  2. Unzip the downloaded ZIP onto your PC somewhere easily accessible.
  3. Go to the extracted folder, there you will find flash_tool. Exe file.
  4. Right-click on flash_tool. Exe and click on Run as Administrator to open the application.
Step 2: From the Encrypted Firmware extract the Firmware Files
  1. Then after you download its corresponding firmware for Xiaomi Redmi 9T, extract the ZIP / RAR archive to some folder.
  2. Also, check that you did not lose any files or folders during extraction.
Step 3: Open SP Flash Tool
  • Run the SP Flash Tool As an Administrator
  • When the tool opens, click on the Download Tab
Step 4: Load the Scatter File
  • Now in the SP Flash Tool interface click on the Scatter-loading first button.
  • Go to the extracted folder of the firmware, and find the scatter file (should be named MT6xxx_Android_scatter. txt).
  • You click on the scatter file and all of the partitions needed are automatically loaded into the tool and listed in a hierarchy.
Step 5: Select Your Flashing Options
  • When the scatter file is loaded, you will see a list of partitions to be flashed in the tool.
  • Unless you are an advanced user who knows what to change, leave all the defaults.
  • Select the right blinking mode. The rename option by far the most used is “Download Only”, which is a complete firmware upgrade.
Step 6: Connect Your Device
  • Make sure your Xiaomi Redmi 9T is turned off.
  • You press a (up) button in the (up) combination and connect the phone to the computer using a (up) cable. This step will trigger the flashing mode.
  • If your computer is unable to detect the device, you can re-install the Xiaomi USB drivers or try a different USB port/cable to connect.
Step 7: Start Flashing
  • Download the SP Flash Tool and click on the Download button after successfully detecting the device.
  • This will initiate the flashing process and a progress bar will let you know the status.
  • Please do not disconnect your device during the process, or else it could be damaged.
Step 8: Flashing has finished
  • You will get a green mark “Download OK” reported on the screen when flashing is done.
  • Now you can disconnect your device from the USB cable.
  • Hold the Power button until the Xiaomi logo appears to Power on your device.
Step 9: First Boot and Setup
  • The initial boot following the flash of fresh firmware might take longer than expected. This is normal activity as the system fine-tunes the newly installed firmware.
  • After successful booting of the device, continue the setup process.
  • If the device is continuously bootlooping, enter recovery mode and try to perform a factory reset.
Troubleshooting and additional notes:
  1. In case the SP Flash Tool does not identify your device, check your USB connection and confirm the proper installation of USB drivers.
  2. Once a BROM Error occurs, try doing the process again with a different USB cable or on a different PC.
  3. If SP Flash Tool rejects the firmware, try another version.
  4. RisksFlash the wrong or corrupt files: always download firmware from a trusted source.
Disclaimer:

Note: These are general steps for flashing an MTK-based device. The process might differ slightly for specific versions of the firmware and SP Flash Tool. Following these guidelines is at your own risk. We are not liable for any damage done to your device due to improper flashing process.

This guide is applicable only when it comes to the October 2023 break and might no longer work if Xiaomi gets into any interchangeable firmware flashing system.
